A presentation of Mendel's legacy takes place in the exhibition, which was ceremonially opened in 2009. You will see an Augustinian abbey of the 19th century, Mendel's life, and get to know his research in the fields of meteorology and beekeeping in five rooms. A special room is dedicated to the discovery of the principles of heredity. The last room historically served as the classroom, for example, Leoš Janáček once sat at a school desk there. Now we can get to know a few milestones of genetics here.
The museum regularly organizes other thematic exhibitions. You can find them in the Cross corridor of the museum, outdoor spaces or at the MU campus. You can also see many of them throughout the Czech Republic, because the museum is the producer of several successful travelling exhibitions.
