The Mendel Manuscript project, KPF-02-134, undertaken in the INTERREG V-A Austria-Czech Republic programme, has seen representatives of the Augustinian Abbey in Brno and Masaryk University join their Austrian partner from Verein Family Business in a visit to Lilienfeld Abbey. The Lilienfeld monastery library safeguards the Codex Concordantie Caritatis, an original manuscript inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dr. Irene Rabl, archivist at the Lilienfeld Abbey Library, accepted the invitation of Mgr. Blanka Křížová, director of the Mendel Museum, and Father Jan to visit the library of the Augustinian Abbey in Brno and to discuss the precious tomes housed in the library and local archives. Dr. Irene Rabl also promised to serve as a consultant for the inscription of a rare manuscript by Mendel in the UNESCO World Heritage List, which the abbey is currently striving to achieve.
