Mendel festival, July 12–19, 2026
The Mendel Festival in mid-July will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the “Father of Genetics” with a varied program. The Mendel Museum is once again participating in the program throughout the festival week – you can find the complete program on the festival's website, on Facebook or Instagram for the latest updates.
Just like last year, the main day of the festival will take place on the university campus in Bohunice on Saturday, July 18.
Mendel Museum program the Mendel Festival:
THURSDAY July 16
5.00 PM | Opening of Mendel's Apiary
- Opening of the new exhibition of the Mendel Museum and opening of the Mendel Apiary to the public. Admission is free; the route will be marked starting from the Mendel Greenhouse.
SATURDAY July 18
9 AM–6 PM | Open Museum
- Free admission to the Mendel Museum and Mendel's Room.
10 AM–6 PM | Program for Families with Children on Campus
- The Mendel Museum will once again have its own booth right on campus.
SUNDAY July 19
6 PM, 7 PM | Tours of the apiary with Gregor Mendel
- Guided tours of the apiary with a costumed guide. Czech only.
