International Mendel Day also marks the anniversary of the presentation of Mendel's research conclusions in 1865 - 160 years ago.

International Museum Day comes on Saturday 18 May this year - and with it the date of Museum Night! Traditionally, the Mendel Museum of Masaryk University will participate together with other cultural institutions in Brno.
Brno Museum Night starts on 18 May at 6 pm. In the Mendel Museum it will be possible to visit all permanent exhibitions until 10 pm:
- Gregor Mendel: The story of a humble genius
- Genetics or A Strange Journey to the Nucleus of the Cell
- Treasures of the Monastery Museum of the Old Brno Abbey.
There will be activities for families with children and everyone interested in the exhibitions and beyond.
At 7 pm we will also have a cello concert by the Brno Cello Quartet in the restored Mendel Greenhouse - see the event on Facebook.
Admission to all parts of the programme is free - come and join us to celebrate the 20th Brno Museum Night!
