Mendel Day and reopening of the museum
International Mendel Day also marks the anniversary of the presentation of Mendel's research conclusions in 1865 - 160 years ago.
New tour circuit
Visitors to the Mendel Museum can now enjoy a new tour circuit. Learn about the history of the monastery in the Mendel Refectory and draw inspiration from its Art Nouveau ornamentation and unique floor mosaic. The Baroque library offers a dazzling decorative display to complement the myriad rare tomes from which the Augustinians sourced their learning. Finally, you will explore the Gothic interior of the former dormitory of the Cistercian nuns, the chapter house, and the treasury, which contain an exhibition of paintings and items from the Brno Augustinian estate, constituting the Old Brno Abbey Museum.
