The Festival of Science 2023
The Festival of Science and Technology returns to the Brno Exhibition Centre after a year, and the Mendel Museum will be there! From Friday 8 to Sunday 10 September we will be looking forward to seeing you at our stand in Hall A1, every day from 9 am to 6 pm. The museum will be operating in standard mode during the festival.

The Mendel Museum will be looking forward to welcoming you to the festival with two activities:
- The Voice of the Bird
- It is common knowledge that hair colour, nature, seed shape or beak shape are inherited from parents. But how does it work, for example, with a bird's ability to sing? Is it like the sounds of mammals, which have their roars or growls innate, or do birds have to learn their trills from an early age? Here you will learn the answers to these questions, but also learn to recognize our most common songbirds - by sight and song!
- Meteorology, measurement and Mendel
- Have you heard that Gregor Mendel was also a meteorologist? What does that mean - and what did he do? Come and find out more about how the weather used to be measured - and whether it can be predicted without measuring instruments and mathematical models.
